Alexandre Blais is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at the Université de Sherbrooke. Previously, he held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Yale University where he worked with Steve Girvin, Rob Schoelkopf and Michel Devoret. He obtained is Ph.D. in Physics from the Université de Sherbrooke in 2002. He was awarded a Doctoral Prize from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) in 2004 and a Sloan Research Fellowship in 2008.
Dr. Blais' research interests include understanding how to control the quantum states of mesoscopic devices, in particular of superconducting qubits, and applying the theoretical tools of quantum optics to mesoscopic systems.
