 Canada Excellence Research Chairholders (CERC) announcedMay 20, 2010The Canadian Government has announced this week the listed Chairholder appointments to the Canada Excellence Research Council. All of the listed chairholders are world-class leaders in research and innovation. The council has been designed to encourage the chairholders and their research teams build a critical mass of expertise in the four priority areas outlined in the Government of Canada's science and technology strategy.

To attract some of the greatest minds in the world a $200-million international recruitment drive has been spent to attract 19 leading researchers to Canadian campuses across the country.

Of special note to the QuantumWorks network Dr. David Cory, a renowned pioneer and innovator in quantum computing, will bring his expertise to IQC and, Dr. Bertrand Reulet's interdisciplinary approach will bring together experimental and theoretical physicists to the Université de Sherbooke.
